Most of scientific discoverings behave that way. And all of us became astonished when realize that all major steps are taken after years or centuries that main principles were here, between us.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now I want to refer to a very simple but curious discovery: the time doesn't exist.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What? Yes, as you read it, the time is a fable. Before such a strange asseveration, there is not place to speculate and the forced question is: why you tell that?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The answer is simple. The scientists have discovered that if they focus their telescopes toward the center of the galaxy and they look with enough details, they are able to see the first instants of life of the stars that form the galaxy. That is to say, the same birth of the galaxy and of the wind that is pushing all the stars to separate. That is to say they are able to see the past.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Therefore, if they determine by means of calculations where the earth was in certain moment, let us say five or ten years before now, and they looked with a sufficiently potent telescope, they would be able to see the near past of the earth in an instant. For example, the movements of troops of First Gulf War.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Undoubtedly similar telescope not yet has been developed. But the question is: How many years will all take the technology in giving us that tool? after all it is a technological problem, not of a reality one.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When that moment arrives, we will be able to see the past as a movie in realtime. It is a question of waiting for a little. Meanwhile, let us think that the time doesn't really exist.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/26336805-6111061208978824575?l=computersand.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/feeds/6111061208978824575/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=26336805&amp;postID=6111061208978824575&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/6111061208978824575'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/6111061208978824575'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/2007/09/time-doesnt-exist.html' title='The time doesn&apos;t exist'/><author><name>Jose Luis Gambande</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='32' src='//lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ZFKvk40MRq0/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAXE/gTpmu8RLe-k/s512-c/photo.jpg'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26336805.post-2304814874344814711</id><published>2007-09-22T22:01:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2007-09-22T22:04:54.971-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Internet'/><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Scams'/><title type='text'>It is real???</title><content type='html'>&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_m56ip05n1sU/RvXyH4d5M5I/AAAAAAAAAHw/hgqlHS_aCRg/s1600-h/Donkey.bas_thumb.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="float:left; margin:10px 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_m56ip05n1sU/RvXyH4d5M5I/AAAAAAAAAHw/hgqlHS_aCRg/s200/Donkey.bas_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5113259169179841426" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://alt-tab.com.ar/el-juego-de-bill-gates/"&gt;Alt-Tab show us something astonishing&lt;/a&gt;. Cab driver was talking about problems that means that Mexico's economy don't grow up as fast as it could. The man was and intelligent man, I guessed. NO to compare with, but think on Newsweek. A Magazine with a lot of unrelated articles. I write what I want, when I want, and the only condition is that the matters means something to me. So, I encourage all fellows here (not so much) to do the same.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span id="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Second, we have no editorial line, in this case is not like Newsweek, jo, jo, jo. First I want to say that this is not a promotional space nor advertising space. I don't know this guy, but the tool he developed is so useful, so simple, and so easy-to-use that I was astonished.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;His name is &lt;a href="http://www.aypwip.org/webnote/"&gt;Webnote&lt;/a&gt; and you can find it in the link.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span id="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For people like me, that have a lot of work to do in the web, todo lists, take notes, bookmark websites with annotations, etc etc is a powerful solution. It is a web based sticky notes system, with the following advantages:&lt;br /&gt;- You take notes in a simple way, with only one click.&lt;br /&gt;- Notes can be separated by colors and moved freely in the screen.&lt;br /&gt;- You can access your notes from everywhere you are, only entering the name of your space.&lt;br /&gt;- Your space is created only entering the name you want for it, no registering process, no emailing passwords, no passwords at all.&lt;br /&gt;- You can enter links, and references to other spaces, like YouTube.&lt;br /&gt;- You easily erase notes, change colors or re-size them, with one click.&lt;br /&gt;- Its FREE, friendly and "ubicous".&lt;br /&gt;- You can set an XML feeder of your notes, for instance for a collaborative space.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;OK, I love it. Try yourself.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/26336805-8108795364083901164?l=computersand.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/feeds/8108795364083901164/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=26336805&amp;postID=8108795364083901164&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/8108795364083901164'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/8108795364083901164'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/2007/05/amazing-tool-for-web-users.html' title='An Amazing Tool for Web Users'/><author><name>Jose Luis Gambande</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='32' src='//lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ZFKvk40MRq0/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAXE/gTpmu8RLe-k/s512-c/photo.jpg'/></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/' url='http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_m56ip05n1sU/RlmzgWNxYAI/AAAAAAAAAAs/-pRl_03H3rk/s72-c/Webnote.jpg' height='72' width='72'/><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26336805.post-4314358702707001208</id><published>2007-05-26T20:44:00.001-07:00</published><updated>2007-05-27T09:22:18.282-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Life'/><title type='text'>A Series of Unfortunate Events in Spain</title><content type='html'>&lt;div xmlns='http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml'&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;object height='205' width='250'&gt;&lt;param value='http://youtube.com/v/ywMo7Bx-UBY' name='movie'&gt;&lt;/param&gt;&lt;embed height='205' width='250' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' src='http://youtube.com/v/ywMo7Bx-UBY'&gt;&lt;/embed&gt;&lt;/object&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;This happen all the time. The problems is to see which are the poles.&lt;br /&gt;Recently, a new player is facing a competing race to &lt;a href="http://www.myspace.com"&gt;MySpace&lt;/a&gt;, the king of social networks.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Founded by a young named Mark Zuckerberg, &lt;a href="http://www.facebook.com/"&gt;Facebook&lt;/a&gt; is reaching 24 millions of users that spend an average of 14 minutes in the service. Recently, 23 years old Mark appeared at a &lt;a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/25/technology/25social.html?th&amp;amp;emc=th"&gt;Facebook event&lt;/a&gt; showing new plans for his company.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span id="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And like all in life, the Facebook's style is very different to MySpace, moving users to opt between them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;While MySpace allow users to boast all their creativity, building full customizable pages, adding widgets or third-part services, Facebook is more formal, strict and rigid to user's likes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This solid and rigid behavior makes Facebook less vulnerable to MySpace to spam, viruses and scams like pornography dissimulated pages.&lt;br /&gt;But, you know, at the same time it is less friendly for kids and young adults.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now, as stated by Mark in the event last week, Facebook will move towards more interactivity, but in a controlled environment.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To prevent the risk of offering more control to his users, the site is inviting other companies, like software developers, specialized social networkers, etc. to add their services through Facebook.&lt;br /&gt;This move will improve functionality and will permit to gain momentum in the race for the pole position. Today Facebook has one third users that MySpace has, so the fight is beginning.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/26336805-9123666540707715247?l=computersand.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='related' href='http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/25/technology/25social.html?th&amp;emc=th' title='Trends: MySpace or Facebook?'/><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/feeds/9123666540707715247/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=26336805&amp;postID=9123666540707715247&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/9123666540707715247'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/9123666540707715247'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/2007/05/trends-myspace-or-facebook.html' title='Trends: MySpace or Facebook?'/><author><name>Jose Luis Gambande</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='32' src='//lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ZFKvk40MRq0/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAXE/gTpmu8RLe-k/s512-c/photo.jpg'/></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/' url='http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_m56ip05n1sU/RljYqWNxX-I/AAAAAAAAAAc/gEMAxh7eZB0/s72-c/opl_mike_at_openphoto_dot_net_carlas.jpg' height='72' width='72'/><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26336805.post-690413779336741060</id><published>2007-05-26T09:27:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2007-05-26T16:48:49.012-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Television'/><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Internet'/><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='URL'/><title type='text'>Which is the future of TV?</title><content type='html'>&lt;a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_m56ip05n1sU/RliUnGNxX8I/AAAAAAAAAAM/5Y_P5phOLB0/s1600-h/thumb.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="float:left; margin:10px 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_m56ip05n1sU/RliUnGNxX8I/AAAAAAAAAAM/5Y_P5phOLB0/s320/thumb.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5068964780009676738" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;With the enormous developing and penetration of internet, no one media will remain de same. In this context, which is the future of TV? Are there a revolution waiting for this old system? or inevitably Internet will replace it in the almost near future? Lets examine.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;During the past 10 years or so, technical and business people were talking about Digital Television, or HDTV (High Definition Television). There are a lot of countries that already have implemented the needed migration, and all them in a different way. You can see a list of countries and the different process &lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_television"&gt;here&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span id="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Accordingly, US Government set the Feb.17.2009 as a &lt;a href="http://hraunfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/DA-07-1847A1.pdf"&gt;deadline for ceasing analog transmissions&lt;/a&gt; for those channel that opted for Digital Transmissions. But, as you probably know, big changes in history never follow the desire of governants.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you see the different phenomena that change the 21st century, you will conclude that business, and not technology, were the engine of change. Now that technology has evolved to cheaper, interactive and easy-to-use equipment, logical trends drive us to a new phenomenon named "convergence". Convergence is the trend of different industries, and different media, to converge to that is most (again) cheaper, interactive and easy-to-use. We all saw it in the case of Cable Operators and Telephone Companies around the world.&lt;br /&gt;If you consider carefully this argument, you will conclude that all the winner chance is in the internet side.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Another reason that move the pieces towards internet scheme is interactivity. Far from all the media available today, internet is the most interactive and at the lower cost. From selecting channels, programming views, giving feedback and a lot of communications improvements, internet is changing the way that the public see the media.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;HDTV, is a one way medium, that must be complemented with others, like telephone, or emails, to gain some aspects of interactivity. TV sets never will transmit signals to his broadcaster, so you can only shift the way to let them know that you are there and wants to buy something.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That interactivity is what is moving the people in advertising industry to internet. If you consider the possibility of interact with the ad subject in different ways like in the internet scheme, this is what advertising see as a paradise.&lt;br /&gt;Let me know what channel the user is viewing, let me offer different kind of ads that users can choose, let me know which screen corners users click, like in Ad Words, and I will be in an ad paradise. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;By the way, Google is moving to adapt his successful advertising system to &lt;a href="http://www.networkworld.com/news/2007/032707-google-next-frontier.html"&gt;TV market&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;Paraphrasing Marshall McLuhan and his famous quote "the medium is the Message" we can say "medium is Advertising". So, only those steps that contribute to improved the way that ads reach the subject like you and me, will prevail and gain momentum to be imposed. Governments must make the necessary changes in regulations for new systems, but the fuel of change is money, and the money is in the advertising side.&lt;br /&gt;With giants playing in TV industries like ever, we must expect a new revolution in internet soon.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You can read and extensive and very well informed history of HDTV in this &lt;a href="http://www.cisco.com/web/about/ac123/ac147/archived_issues/ipj_1-3/digital_tv.html"&gt;Cisco Document.&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/26336805-690413779336741060?l=computersand.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/feeds/690413779336741060/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=26336805&amp;postID=690413779336741060&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/690413779336741060'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/690413779336741060'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/2007/05/which-is-future-of-tv.html' title='Which is the future of TV?'/><author><name>Jose Luis Gambande</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='32' src='//lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ZFKvk40MRq0/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAXE/gTpmu8RLe-k/s512-c/photo.jpg'/></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/' url='http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_m56ip05n1sU/RliUnGNxX8I/AAAAAAAAAAM/5Y_P5phOLB0/s72-c/thumb.jpg' height='72' width='72'/><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26336805.post-656175038333379795</id><published>2007-05-24T22:19:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2007-05-26T16:48:49.014-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Internet'/><title type='text'>HIGH PAGERANK DOMAIN FRAUD</title><content type='html'>&lt;a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_m56ip05n1sU/RliWv2NxX9I/AAAAAAAAAAU/YsAAZxAk7Fo/s1600-h/openphotonet_4_pict0025.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="float:left; margin:10px 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_m56ip05n1sU/RliWv2NxX9I/AAAAAAAAAAU/YsAAZxAk7Fo/s320/openphotonet_4_pict0025.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5068967129356787666" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This article covers the rising rate of fraud in the industries of selling expired domains and selling used domains. This article was previously only available to our paid members of the &lt;a href="http://www.seorevolution.com/"&gt;SEO Revolution&lt;/a&gt;, but we are releasing it as a public service due to the high level of fraud that is currently in the market. Recently I purchased some domains from a broker that were good domains and looked to be well established (they had good PageRank). However, when I "got them home" so to speak, they were far from what I thought I had purchased. In my investigation into this, it was clear that many of the domains being sold today from brokers and especially on eBay are littered with fraud. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;span id="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Domain names are investments, and any investment should researched. Never make the assumption that the domain broker has done this research for you. Chances are, they haven't.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Just as there is fraud in PPC, there is fraud in domain purchasing as well. Remember that. Just because the toolbar says a PageRank 5 doesn't mean it is.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First, let's discuss the process and how the con artist works. Most SEOs and knowledgeable webmasters know the value of a high PageRank site. And how it can take months - even a year to get a solid PageRank 5 site. So, many SEOs and webmasters turn to domains being sold to get a jump start on the process. Their thinking is, "If I spend a few thousand on this site, it will shave months off my work schedule." &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The thinking is sound, but unfortunately, the bad guys know you are thinking this and they take advantage of a "loophole" in the system that isn't known to most SEOs.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The Google Toolbar. Google really didn't know what they were starting when they first introduced it back in 2002. Now, millions of webmasters all have "Green Bar Addiction" and they watch their PageRank values as closely they do the stock market.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The Loophole: In order to protect their algorithm from their competition (Yahoo! and Microsoft) and "black hat" marketers, they publicly show "delayed" PageRank. Much like the free stock quoting tools online are 15 minute delayed, the Google Toolbar is delayed too. Only, it isn't just a few minutes, but 3-5 months!!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So, the PageRank you see displayed, is actually the PageRank the page had back in October, November or December of last year! I am sure you know where this is going now. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Google updates their toolbar about once every three months. So, the con artist does one of two things usually. The first is that they will hijack the PageRank on another domain. I won't go into how this is done, so amateur thieves can't replicate it. The second way they do this is that they will buy or beg for temporary links from other sites or networks, drive up the PageRank to a 5, 6 or 7 and once the toolbar updates, they cancel all the bought links which lowers&lt;br /&gt;the real PageRank, the actual one, to zero. You see, even though Google "delays" the showing of the PageRank by a couple of months, they use the current values in their ranking process.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, even though the site can "verify" it is a PageRank 5, the actual value is 0. You basically bought a "vapor domain." Here is a systematic way to check to ensure what you are being sold is genuine. Your "Gotta make sure this Rolex is really a Rolex" cheat sheet:&lt;br /&gt;1. The first thing to do is to just go to&lt;br /&gt;the site directly and see if the PageRank is the same as advertised. Sometimes the con artist gets lazy and doesn't realize a toolbar update happened and their "PR5" site is actually displaying "PR0". &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2. While you are there look at the site. Is the domain online? Is the site still live or is there a "placeholder" page? If it is a placeholder, the domain is probably dead.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3. Next you want to look at the site's history. When was the domain registered? To whom? Where is it hosted? Is it on its own IP or is it sharing with hundreds or thousands of other domains? What was the site before?&lt;br /&gt;A great place to start your research is &lt;a href="http://www.domaintools.com/" rel="nofollow"&gt;DomainTools.com &lt;/a&gt;. There you can find key information of when the domain was registered, where it is hosted, and if the domain has its own IP address or not. If it is sharing an IP address, you can access the Reverse IP Tool and often you can uncover networks of sites. This does require at least a Silver Membership which runs $15.00 a month. It&lt;br /&gt;will also tell you if the domain is on any black lists.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To find out what the site was before, you can use the Way Back Machine at &lt;a href="http://www.archive.org/" rel="nofollow"&gt;http://www.archive.org/&lt;/a&gt;. The reason you want to do this is if the domain you are wanting to acquire is currently a viable site but back in '01 was a child porn site, you will want to pass for&lt;br /&gt;obvious reasons. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;4. Is the site listed in the Google index? Just because it has PageRank, doesn't mean it is still listed, so check. The best way to do this is to check the Google Cache. Do a query in Google for - cache:domain.com (home page check) cache:domain.com/subpage.html (sub page check). Please note that if there are no results that come up, the site could not allow Google to cache the site. If that is the case, use the site: command instead. I like using the "cache" command first as that allows me to see the most recently indexed page and what it looked like. If it is different than what is currently displayed, that could be a red flag.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;5. Verify the PageRank is legit. In the domain buying space, PageRank is often faked - especially on eBay or other auctions. I have been a victim of this in the past.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, how can you protect yourself? Easy. You can use a free tool over at &lt;a href="http://www.seologs.com/pr-check/pagerank.html"&gt;SEO Logs.&lt;/a&gt; Just type in&lt;br /&gt;the domain and it will check. If it comes back and verifies that it is valid, are you safe? Not quite. One more check.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Use the &lt;a href="http://www.iwebtool.com/pagerank_prediction/"&gt;PageRank Predictor&lt;/a&gt; from iWebTool. It will give you a prediction based on current link counts from MSN.&lt;br /&gt;You should also check &lt;a href="http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/"&gt;Yahoo!'s Site Explorer&lt;/a&gt;. These are two great resources because they update their links on a weekly basis, whereas Google updates theirs about once a quarter.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That was a lot to digest, I know, but this is how I make sure that I never get taken when buying domains. Getting ripped off is never something that is pleasant - and domain fraud is a killer as your ability to recoup your loss is slim to none. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now you have the knowledge that you need in order to verify what is being presented to you is real. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you would like to watch a 13 minute video show casing the fraud and how to research potential domains buys - complete the form below.&lt;br /&gt;Note: Due to bandwidth issues, all requests will have their email addresses&lt;br /&gt;verified. Incomplete or incorrect email addresses will not receive the link for&lt;br /&gt;the video.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/26336805-656175038333379795?l=computersand.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/feeds/656175038333379795/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=26336805&amp;postID=656175038333379795&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/656175038333379795'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/656175038333379795'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/2007/05/high-pagerank-domain-fraud.html' title='HIGH PAGERANK DOMAIN FRAUD'/><author><name>Jose Luis Gambande</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='32' src='//lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ZFKvk40MRq0/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAXE/gTpmu8RLe-k/s512-c/photo.jpg'/></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/' url='http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_m56ip05n1sU/RliWv2NxX9I/AAAAAAAAAAU/YsAAZxAk7Fo/s72-c/openphotonet_4_pict0025.jpg' height='72' width='72'/><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26336805.post-225715815605990211</id><published>2007-05-24T22:00:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2007-05-26T18:15:35.064-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='War'/><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Politics'/><title type='text'>What about the death?</title><content type='html'>&lt;a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_m56ip05n1sU/RljavmNxX_I/AAAAAAAAAAk/o9pqSbhNfZs/s1600-h/openphotonet_PICT5463.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="float:left; margin:10px 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_m56ip05n1sU/RljavmNxX_I/AAAAAAAAAAk/o9pqSbhNfZs/s320/openphotonet_PICT5463.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5069041891852509170" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I don'y know you, but I am saturated of death. Here are some debt consolidation scams to stay away from:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. “Free Debt Consolidation Services”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Why are these guys doing it for free? How are they making money? Do be aware, though, that cheap debt consolidation services are not always a rip-off, although it would be a good idea to take a second look at anything that sounds too good to be true.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2. Consolidate Your Debts Using Free Government Grants&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yeah, right. The woods are thick with companies that offer information about “free government grants”. Haven’t you heard? Uncle Sam is giving away money like candy (which explains our high taxes!). And you can use this money any way you like – for example, to consolidate your debts. It’s true that the government gives loads of grant money, but I have yet to hear of a Citizen Lifestyle Enhancement Fund. It’s not easy to qualify for government grants, you have to spend the money for a particular purpose, and using it to consolidate your bills might just win you a free bonus – a five-year vacation at the Club Fed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3. “No Repayment Necessary”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I don’t quite know quite why I included this one, except for entertainment value – if you can read then you’re probably too smart to fall for it. Anyway, here goes: Did you know that banking laws prohibit the charging of interest, and that the Supreme Court has backed this up with several decisions? You can borrow money, fail to pay it back, and then retain a smooth attorney to get you out of paying it back – after all, they had no legal right to lend you the money. Would you like to know how? Well, for the low, low price of $69.95…&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you fall for this one then I’ve got some swampland in Florida I’d like to sell you sight unseen. Oh, and by the way, even if banking law DID prohibit the charging of interest, you’d still have to pay back the principal.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Most debt consolidation swindles are see-through because they aim to take advantage of somebody in financial and emotional distress. Barnum said, “There’s a sucker born every minute”.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;About the author&lt;br /&gt;“Debt Consolidation” at &lt;a title="http://debtconsolidationguide4u.blogspot.com/" href="%3Ca" target="_blank"&gt;http://debtconsolidationguide4u.blogspot.com/&lt;/a&gt; offers readers information about all types of debt consolidation. One of the main ones is of being able to be used in three dimensions: moving it towards the flanks make the cursor handled, and taking it forwards and backwards control the zoom lens. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A positive data of the device is its cost of assembly: 155 dollars, that include the ion-lithium battery. Thinking it put on its marketing - for which still there are no plans -, and the price could be, lower enough. The students who endeavor the project were Christian Banker, Michael Cretella Jr, Jeff DiMaria, Jamie Mitchell and Jeffrey Tucker. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The MagicMouse was one of the ten inventions awarded by the Popular Science Magazine in its last annual prize. The answer s simple, really. It s because you can make money here. There is thousands, maybe even millions to be gained by investing in Las Vegas real estate.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span id="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The real estate market in Las Vegas has been appreciating at an incredible rate, and will continue to do so in the near future. In the year 2000 real estate experts predicted that Las Vegas real estate would appreciate two hundred percent within eight years. Those have turned out to be conservative predictions. Prices of Las Vegas real estate grew 43 percent on 2004.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Whatever your financial goals are, buying Las Vegas real estate will probably be profitable to you. A short-term buy and hold strategy will almost certainly make you a tidy profit within the next few years. If you are a long-term investor, however, this is still a good place for you. Nevada is known as the entertainment capital of the world. It has a strong economy with good long term-prospects. Not to mention the fact that you don t have to pay a state tax. Perhaps that s one reason why billionaires like Steve Wynn and Donald Trump invest in Las Vegas real estate. Maybe you should too.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Check out the &lt;a href="http://www.lasvegasbuyeragent.com/investment-articles/las-vegas-real-estate-investments.html" target="_New"&gt;Las Vegas real estate investments&lt;/a&gt; at &lt;a href="http://www.lasvegasbuyeragent.com/" target="_New"&gt;LasVegasBuyerAgent.com&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Article Source: &lt;a href="http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Shirley_Simmons"&gt;http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Shirley_Simmons&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/26336805-464003148284697779?l=computersand.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/feeds/464003148284697779/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=26336805&amp;postID=464003148284697779&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/464003148284697779'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/464003148284697779'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/2007/05/las-vegas-real-estate-why-you-should.html' title='Las Vegas Real Estate: Why You Should Invest Here'/><author><name>Jose Luis Gambande</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='32' src='//lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ZFKvk40MRq0/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAXE/gTpmu8RLe-k/s512-c/photo.jpg'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26336805.post-6860303327853169070</id><published>2007-05-23T15:56:00.001-07:00</published><updated>2007-05-26T16:48:49.021-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='google'/><title type='text'>Firefox and the Anxiety of Growing Pains </title><content type='html'>&lt;!-- Converted from text/rtf format --&gt; &lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN LANG="es-mx"&gt;&lt;FONT FACE="Times New Roman"&gt;The people behind Firefox have a dilemma: What happens when an open-source project starts to become successful?&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt; &lt;BR&gt;&lt;SPAN LANG="es-mx"&gt;&lt;FONT FACE="Times New Roman"&gt;WDYT? A unique quality or gift? Do they Learn to become leaders through various forms of education?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I often wonder if it takes a special sort of person to become a great leader. &lt;span id="fullpost"&gt;Not everybody can become one, I am sure of that, but just about anyone can learn about leadership skills and techniques. Education on the subject can be found easily on the internet and there are endless sources of information that we can all use to learn the skills that are needed to understand the techniques of leadership. But that's not enough to really cut it. There is more, a characteristic that leaders have that education cannot create. Perhaps it s in the genes, inherited from the distant past.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are many many people out there with the education that can put to shame most common day politicians and countless successful business leaders. Yet so many of those people tend to stay in second place, or behind the scenes, not wanting to take the front seat, not wanting to be exposed to the realities of being in charge. In many ways, one has to be very brave to be a leader, to have all the responsibility and all of risk focused on you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Throughout history, great leaders are first to take risks and the last to give up. That is not a trait that can be gained simply through education, it is I think something more fundamental, something inherited which burns deeply in the veins of some people, enabling them to take the reins when the opportunity to lead presents itself.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Perhaps you are a leader, or maybe you have what it takes and only need to learn how to unleash your potential. Perhaps some education will help.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;http://www.elearn-university.org/Leadership/site-map.php&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;By: Ronnie&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.articledashboard.com/"&gt;Article Directory&lt;/a&gt;: http://www.articledashboard.com&lt;br /&gt;Ronnie Roberts - Author is the owner of education relevant sites www.learn-anything.com www.elearn-university.org www.elearn-university.com Feel free to republish this article in its entirety including author's Bio and relevant site details.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/26336805-1335746683596768471?l=computersand.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/feeds/1335746683596768471/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=26336805&amp;postID=1335746683596768471&amp;isPopup=true' title='1 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/1335746683596768471'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/1335746683596768471'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/2007/05/are-leaders-born-or-do-they-learn-to.html' title='Are Leaders &apos;born&apos; Or Do They &apos;learn&apos; To Become?'/><author><name>Jose Luis Gambande</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='32' src='//lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ZFKvk40MRq0/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAXE/gTpmu8RLe-k/s512-c/photo.jpg'/></author><thr:total>1</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26336805.post-1391339454827033480</id><published>2007-05-22T20:19:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2007-05-26T16:48:49.025-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='marketing'/><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Scams'/><title type='text'>Working pijamas</title><content type='html'>Today there are million schemes to clear the money from your pocket without giving nothing in return. I don't know if we can call them 'scams' really. All these systems became popular thanks to &lt;br /&gt;1. - The enormous diffusion of Internet &lt;br /&gt;2. - The appearance of cases of fast fortune in Internet. &lt;span id="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The real base of these schemes is that its impossible to verify if is a trick or not, and as the entrance cost is relatively low a lot of people enter beside the doubts. The base is that if one person contributes with 1 dolar to the system, with thousands or hundreds of thousands it can be made a fortune.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But the system has another source of success: they are generally based on selling a system to people to become rich quick selling systems to become rich quick. That is to say, if I sell you a system to become rich fast selling books, or selling cd's or selling clothes, it is more or less believable for my. But if I sell a system to you to become rich fast selling the same system, I do not believe in that. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is simple, they are saying "look for other idiots like you, if you enter and you are not the unique of all, others will enter to and you will additionally drain money to your pocket and mine.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The conclusion is that a pijama's work can be made money in Internet, and it could be, but not in two days. Like all things that have a value in life, it costs time, effort, work and a lot of dedication and intelligence. Miracles don't exists.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/26336805-1391339454827033480?l=computersand.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/feeds/1391339454827033480/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=26336805&amp;postID=1391339454827033480&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/1391339454827033480'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/1391339454827033480'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/2007/05/working-pijamas.html' title='Working pijamas'/><author><name>Jose Luis Gambande</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='32' src='//lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ZFKvk40MRq0/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAXE/gTpmu8RLe-k/s512-c/photo.jpg'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26336805.post-1204695024797670984</id><published>2007-05-22T20:00:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2007-05-26T16:48:49.026-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='online'/><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Internet'/><title type='text'>A new Internet?</title><content type='html'>For a time they have been appearing certain news that refer to comitees or groups of investigators that are creating the bases of a new Internet. &lt;br /&gt;The objective is to eliminate the restrictions and limitations of the present Internet. &lt;br /&gt;Do they will also eliminate its anonymity, its unrestricted access, its homogeneity? In fact,&lt;span id="fullpost"&gt;the word these western commentators are more likely to use is "pillaging" Africa's natural resources. Just last week, African leaders gathered in the sunny French Riveria city of Cannes. According to an Associated Press article, titled "African Union Bemoans Continent's Image," "French President Jacques Chirac recited a list of challenges that lie ahead for Africa and the international community, not least how to tap but not squander its natural resources - most recently being sought by China, India and others." (Italics mine). Chirac continued, "Africa is rich, but Africans are not. The continent holds one-third of the planet's mineral reserves. It is a treasure trove. But it must be neither pillaged nor sold off cheaply." (Again, italics mine for emphasis). &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Again, on February 6, 2007, there was a news report that the U.S. President, George Bush, had authorised the establishment of a "command centre for Africa" to oversee US military activities on the continent. "This new command," said President Bush, "will strengthen our security cooperation with Africa." The U.S, he said, would 'consult' with Africa later, yet he had talked of 'cooperation with Africa" earlier. In analysing this new U.S. initiative, a BBC correspondent stated that, "The U.S. gets more than 10% of its oil from Africa and is worried about increased economic and diplomatic competition from China." Anyway, views or criticisms about Chirac or Bush are not the essence of this article, but the question as to whether China's involvement in Africa is imperialistic. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Last November, a delegation of U.S. and African experts visited Beijing, and concluded that though China's aggressive courtship of African could "benefit the poor continent," (mark the word 'poor'), but observed that "shady Chinese businessmen and no-questions-asked aid policies" could backfire on Beijing. The delegation of course which had gone to Beijing to discuss the "different approaches to Africa", endorsed the observation that "Chinese aid policies in Africa have drawn criticism from some Westrn aid donors who say Beijing is undermining global efforts to foster reforms and good governance and supporting brutal governments in states such as Sudan or Zimbabwe." A Stephen Morrison, head of the Africa Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank, was quoted as saying, "There is a need for a more strategic approach by the United States if a costly and damaging and unnecessary U.S.-China clash is to be avoided." In a preview of a study by the CSIS, according to the article, "the delegation also warned China against naivete or undue optimism about the troubled (mark the word 'troubled') continent and China's role there." A so-called business advisor, an Anthony Carroll, said that he had warned Chinese officials about "bad actors and trade practices that affect China' s reputation." &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My God!! Another 1884 European scramble for Africa, but this time between the United States, Europeans on the one hand, and China on the other? At least, as far as I know 10% of the African population of over 900 million people are well educated, yet issues are being discussed as if we don't exist. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Writing in the January 9, 2007 online issue of Zabalaza Anarchist Communist Federation, Lucien van der Walt &amp; Michael Schmidt, under the title, "Is China Africa's New Imperialist Power?", wrote that "there is a more serious question we have to ask, one with implications beyond our borders (South Africa): Will China replace Britain as South Africa's imperialist power, a changing of the guard, so to speak - leading to South Africa embarking on military expeditions in Africa to protect Chinese capitalist interests? All serious anti-imperialists must consider and plan for the possibility of Africa becoming the future battle-ground between US-backed Western and Chinese expansionist interests, and unite the continent's people in a battle against the oil barons." &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Of course, I could continue quoting articles upon articles about how the western powers are frothing in their mouths about the Chinese presence in Africa, which they have now began to refer more dirisively as "invasion" and "imperialistic." When you hear the jingoism of fear and anti-Chinese presence in Africa by the likes of Jacques Chirac, Tony Blair, Britain's Gordon Brown, as well as the leader of the only super-power left in the world, President Bush, you not only wonder in amazement about this new found love affair for Africa, which the same group which has pillaged Africa, not only in terms of its raw materials, but as well as human lives through brutal slavery, now have the temerity to be warning Africa about. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is oxymornic to state that the Chinese have landed in Africa. Of course, the Chinese have landed in Africa. But the question and the debate that Africans should be engaging in is whether the Chinese have come as an benefactor or as an imperialist. I hate to see this debate being orchestrated in the Western world (press), while Africans as usual, in our lackadaisical manner, engage in useless and meaningless discussions as Africa is being foisted with another "Scramble" for our continent's resources. At least, in 1884, we could proffer an excuse that we didn't understand what was going on then. As I said earlier, with more than 10% of the African population being well educated, this type of excuse will be a great disservice to our continent, as well as to the future generation of Africans, who would ask how we stood by and let another "Scramble for Africa" take place with our eyes with open. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I remember sounding the same type of alarm in my keynote address to the Black Management Forum in South Africa on October 13, 2005, when I stated at the conclusion of my address with this warning, "Finally, I must sound this note of warning to Africa: there is a new kind of slavery marching through Africa - it is the economic giant called China. Yes, it is stimulating and exciting seeing the competition the Chinese are giving to the western world in Africa. But we are again abandoning our independence for a quick solution to our economic woes. Africa needs to suffer a little if we are going to build a solid economic base for the generation of Africans to come. First, it was slavery, then colonialism, and now we are letting economic slavery into the door. In the past, we could make the excuse that our forefathers and fathers were not in a position to know or do anything about it. We can't say the same thing now that we don't know what is going on. We don't want to mortgage the future of our children for a quick-fix economic solution." &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Of course, before we attack or defend the Chinese presence in Africa, it is necessary that we analyse how the Chinese themselves see their involvement in Africa, how African leaders see the Chinese involvement, how the projects that the Chinese are carrying out in Africa are different from Africa's former colonial masters as well as U.S. and the West's conditional aids to Africa, as well as their attendant interference in the interenal affairs of respective African countries. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For one thing, far from being imperialistic, the Chinese see their presence in Africa as the knight in shining armor, galloping to rescue us from the treacherous West which have used military might, religious might and commercial might to destitute the continent, and right now continues to attach conditionalities to the pittance of aids that they give to Africa, which they take back immediately in another form, insisting on our purchasing their products, or through the connivance of corruption by allowing corrupt African leaders to lodge their stolen booties in their banks unimpeded. According to China's Assistant Foreign Minister, rather than the Chinese presence being exploitative and imperialistic, he said that his government "wanted to conduct mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation with African countriesm" and "will vigorously encourage Chinese enterprises to participate in improving infrastructure in African countries," Finally, he insisted that, "China's economic aid for African countries is free of political conditions and is based on African countries' priorities." Other Chinese leaders have gone on to articulate basically the same sentiment, especially orchestrated by high-powered visits by the Chinese leader's visits to different African countries recently. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Africans have eyes and could see the difference between what the Chinese are doing in Africa, building infrastructure in different African countries - railroads, dams, hydroelectric projects, highways, etc, etc., compared to the exploitative nature of Western presence in Africa, which amounts to nothing but the continued extraction of Africa's natural resources and leaving the continent with nothing but more poverty as well as environmental degradation especially in the oil countries in which they operate. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As to how African leaders feel about the Chinese presence in the continent, the only answer I can give is that 48 of them trooped to Beijing in November, 2006, where they were extravagantly feted by the Chinese, with displays of our giant size animals on murals and cheer leaders. They came away with a promise that the Chinese were forgiving the continent of $1 billion in debt. Especially for those countries which have been blacklisted by the West like the Sudan, Zimbabwe or Equatorial Guinea, the Chinese are God-sent. Some of our leaders are so ecstatic about the Chinese presence and the competition that China is giving to the United States and her western allies. Their present loans to African countries don't have the same conditionalities that the West attaches to their loans. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Having said all of the above, the question remains as to whether China's presence in Africa is as an benefactor or an imperialist. Let me say here, that there is nothing altruistic about what China is doing in Africa. China is an imperialist, as imperialistic as its western counterparts. It is imperialistic because Africans have not done the same thing that the Chinese did to become what they are today - control who comes in or doesn't into the continent as the Chinse did for almost three decades, or how they come in. China is imperialistic, just as its western counterpart, because it needs the natural resources of Africa, in exchange for which it dumps billions and billions of its manufactured products to Africa, as well as its human export, to the extent that there are now estimated to be about 3 million Chinese in Africa and growing. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Am I then advocating that Africa stops its relationship with China? Absolutely not. Any day, I prefer the Chinese economic model of interraction with Africans - a built infrastructure can never be uprooted and taken home, just in case Africans wake up one day and decide to kick out the Chinese. We cannot say the same thing about the West, they practically have no meaningful presence in Africa, except extracting our natural resources and taking them back to their respective countries, manufacture and send the finished goods back to us. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But what we as Africans don't want is Africa as a battlefield between America and its western allies on the one hand, and China on the other. We should call the bluff of the western powers and their hypocrisy, and the African Union should tell them in no uncertain unmistable language - to mind themselves. As I said earlier, Africans should be in the forefront of this debate, we don't want anybody to pull any wool over our eyes ever again. We are capable of thinking for ourselves, and visually we should not allow ignorant so-called Western-minded 'experts', or the Chinese themselves, to define this debate for us. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;About the Author&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Chika Onyeani is the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of the award-winning African Sun Times, as well as author of the internationally acclaimed No.1 bestselling book, "Capitalist Nigger: The Road to Success," and a new novel, "The Broederbond Conspiracy." (really?)&lt;br /&gt;So, I want to give a word about Sarkozy and France. Iam not french, so I don't know &lt;span id="fullpost"&gt;if its my right. But problems in France are problems in all the west. Better, France is, and always was, a breath of hope for us, western people.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I will say it at once: now, 2007, I think that Sarkozy is a hope. I have a soft left trend in my political ideas, but in 2007 there are some facts that could make Sarkozy not a danger like it could be. Bush is retiring. And democrats have a good chance to take the crown. Blair is retiring, and succesor is better, sure. There are papers that say that Merkel is a kind of Blair, but I don't think so. Merkel is she, a new kind of soft-right wing or so.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Conclusion: without those bad fellows, Sarkozy can make his own road, with HC in White House, and some new leaders with more brains and lesser bullets. The financing in this sector is done mainly by borrowing money as it is more lucrative than investing one s own money in a single real estate. Real estate investment is a great possibility for many people to gain equity and &lt;span id="fullpost"&gt;to generate cash flow and due to this, demand for commercial real estate investment financing is increasing day by day. The real estate investments include homebuilder stocks, real estate mutual funds and real estate investment trusts (REITs).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A real estate investor can get around 98 percent financing for his investments. Even, cent percent financing is available. Zero down real estate investment financing is a fully documented loan which is provided to a single family, townhouse, or condominium. The only requirement for this program is excellent credit. It is now available at reasonable rates. For investment properties, limited and no documentation loans are also available.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Many companies are providing financing for the real estate investments. Most of the business concerns are allowing a maximum of 5 to 6 new rental property mortgages yearly. These companies provide low interest rates and quick close available (48 hours) options to the investors. For a reliable and stable financing, short term and interim financing loans are available. It is hard for a person to get real estate investment financing for more than six properties in a single year. In this situation, sellers financing is the best alternative for achieving the maximum leverage of the investment.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are various real estate investor financing books available in the market from where one gets rich information about the financing methods. Many, however, wonder how social networking can help their careers or businesses and exactly how to get started with this online marketing technique. Here in part 1, I will help you get started. Next month in part 2, I will explain some techniques for expanding your presence and building a quality network of online contacts.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span id="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What is Online Social Networking?&lt;br /&gt;From a conceptual standpoint, online social networking is no different than traditional networking and socializing. You meet people and get to know them by sharing information about each other. Those you like and/or share interests with become part of your "network." The marketing magic kicks in when those in your network start talking about you. Your reputation spreads by word-of-mouth.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Internet and related technology have taken networking to the next level, expanding each individual's reach and exposure through online marketing. Where traditionally people gather in person to network -- at the same time and place as others -- members of online networking groups are not limited by time or geography. Each group member can interact 24/7 from any location worldwide. Consequently, online networking techniques are very different from in-person networking.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How To Interact Through Social Networking&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ways to interact are numerous. The first order of business is to decide what your marketing goals are with respect to social networking. While "finding new friends" is a sufficient personal reason for social networking, business marketing goals need to be more specific. Are you an individual looking for a job or freelance work? Do you want to gain exposure for your product, band or company? Are you looking for potential employees or contractors? Do you want to get prospects interested enough to visit your Website or contact you? Your goals will dictate what you put on your profile and social networking home page as well as who you look for the become part of your network.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After you've decided on your purpose for online networking, choose which social networking Website(s) you will participate in.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Where to Network Online&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You can find a comprehensive list of social networking site here, at Wikipedia. (link&lt;br /&gt;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_social_networking_websites to "here, at Wikipedia) I am familiar with those listed below. They will give you an idea of the range of opportunities you will find at social networking Websites:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yahoo! 360 (360.yahoo.com): Yahoo!'s social networking site is in beta as of this writing. The unique feature here is your Yahoo! 360 space is cross-promoted with other Yahoo! products, such as with your reviews on Yahoo! Local and your Yahoo! Groups. Like many social networking sites, you can also host a blog on the server.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;MySpace (myspace.com): This is the mother of social networking sites. Originally dominated by teens, there are reports of the "graying of myspace" as older people and businesses are also networking on the site. It may be worth your while to spend some time there to see if your target customers hang out there.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;LinkedIn (linkedin.com): LinkedIn is excellent for professional, career-related online marketing because it focuses exclusively on business and professional networking. You will find interfaces to connect with classmates or colleagues (both past and present); find service providers or clients; post or find a job; and ask or answer business-related questions.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Gather (gather.com): This network incorporates user publications (in the form of articles) and a points reward system into the usual social networking activities.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Each social networking Website has it's own "personality" and a different mix of people to interact with. Before signing up, go to each site and explore a bit -- search on keywords related to your goals and interests, check out the different groups, the activity level, etc. This will help you determine if a site will be beneficial to you. Once you find a site that interests you, establish your presence by signing up and filling in the questions for your profile and site home page. Once that is done, you are ready to interact.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Who To Interact With&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The people you want to associate with (i.e. make "friends" or be "connected" to) will depend largely on your goals. There are several types of people you will want to consider contacting. Each can help you in different ways, so consider looking for more than one type of "target friend:"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Customers and Consumers: People who will benefit from what you do, consume or buy your products or services, and rave about you to their friends&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Others Within Your Industry: People with whom you can network, share resources and cross-promote with.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Media and Publishers: People who work for or can influence publications you would like to be mentioned in (e-zines, newspapers, Websites, etc).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Consultants: People who may want to hire or purchase products from you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Event, Company or Organization representatives: People who operate business and associations that support your industry.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How To Find Friends&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A few people will find you based on your profile, but you will want to actively seek out quality friends. You can start to find friends by joining groups related to your expertise, that have members who match your target friend profile or interest you in general. You can also approach individuals and ask them to become a friend and/or part of your network.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Next month in part 2 I will detail some more specific networking and marketing techniques. Until then, explore your social networking sites, get comfortable with the features and find a few friends.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;By: Bobette Kyle&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.articledashboard.com/"&gt;Article Directory&lt;/a&gt;: http://www.articledashboard.com&lt;br /&gt;About the Author: Bobette Kyle draws upon 15+ years of Marketing/Executive experience, online marketing experience, and a marketing MBA as inspiration for her writing. "Come and take whatever you want, nothing is off limits. Items outside and garage will be open for access into house. Please help yourself to anything on property at 1202 East 64th Street. Investigators said they had traced the fraudulent advertisement to a computer Ms. Blackwell had previously used to post other times on Craigslist. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;"Blackwell said that she had disliked the victim for years and was upset because the victim had evicted her mother from the house in question without letting her mother get her possessions," said a document filed last week by the Pierce County prosecutor. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;"On March 24, 2007, she drove by the house and noticed the garage was open," the document continued. "Blackwell and her mother entered the garage and took items that belonged to her mother. Blackwell then returned home and was angry at the victim for how she was treating family members and posted the ad."&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Jim Buckmaster, the chief executive for Craigslist, said users had flagged the ad as inappropriate within hours of its posting. "Apparently it's a family feud," Mr. Buckmaster said.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/26336805-1731715390051529310?l=computersand.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/feeds/1731715390051529310/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=26336805&amp;postID=1731715390051529310&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/1731715390051529310'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/1731715390051529310'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/2007/05/rv-online-invitation-to-help-yourself.html' title='Online Invitation to ‘Help Yourself’ Surprises the Stuff’s Owner'/><author><name>Jose Luis Gambande</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='32' src='//lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ZFKvk40MRq0/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAXE/gTpmu8RLe-k/s512-c/photo.jpg'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26336805.post-6559094877564458295</id><published>2007-05-19T15:46:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2007-05-26T16:48:49.043-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='online'/><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Degree'/><title type='text'>Associate Degrees: Information And Courses</title><content type='html'>When you think of a college education, you immediately think of bachelor degrees. The majority of society actually knows very little about the degree system and tends to band the options offered for post-high school education together. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;span id="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;However, taking a bachelor is not the only option as a first rung on the ladder of high education. You can opt to take an associate degree online as an alternative to a bachelor degree. An online associate degree education differs greatly from a bachelor degree in a number of key areas, and the purpose of this article is to show you that difference.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Associate degrees online are marketed as two-year courses, which is markedly different to bachelor degrees because they are usually expected to last four years. However, it is possible to complete both degree programs in a much shorter period of time if you take them online and demonstrate sheer hard work and dedication to your education. Taking an associate degree online can be useful if you are unsure of the direction that you want to take in life and are not set on one specific career path. In effect, getting an online associate degree education is the equivalent of taking a community college degree and can always be used as a foundation for a bachelor degree at a later date.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you take a bachelor degree then you either earn the title of Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science. Associate degrees online work in exactly the same way. You can achieve an AA (Associate of Arts) or an AAS (Associate of Applied Sciences). Within these boundaries, the choice of online associate degree education is immense. There are thousands of associate degrees online just waiting for your application. They are all designed to provide a foundation in general education but provide specialization in a certain subject in your second year. Some of the best associate degrees online are listed below:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. AA Liberal Arts Saint Leo University Online&lt;br /&gt;2. AA General Studies University of Phoenix&lt;br /&gt;3. AAS Criminal Justice Technology ECPI College Of Technology&lt;br /&gt;4. AA Early Childhood Education Penn Foster Schools&lt;br /&gt;5. Associate s Homeland Security FMU Online&lt;br /&gt;6. AAS PC Maintenance Technology Penn Foster Schools&lt;br /&gt;7. AAS Criminal Justice/Corrections Kaplan University&lt;br /&gt;8. AAS Health Information Technology DeVry University&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The eight courses listed above are just samples of the many associate degrees online and serve to highlight the choices available. There is something for everyone under the heading of associate s degree and all of the major colleges and universities offer them. All you have to do now is find the right one for you!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;By: Wade Robins&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You can also find more information onOnline Nursing Degrees and Online University Medical Degree . I want to show that using Yahoo in a proper way one can get many help to simplify one’s life and to make that technology works for one and his work.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span id="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It delights me the form in which the technology can make the life simplest, mainly in this world so busy and with so little time to waste.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I am an engineer, and my work consists on preparing projects, most of the time sitting down in my computer. When one rising many time in the office, attending phone calls, making calls and preparing documents, one begins to need tools.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What a busy man needs?&lt;br /&gt;- An e-mail program, obviously&lt;br /&gt;- A program that concentrates all his mail accounts, labor, personal and fun&lt;br /&gt;- A program that keeps him up-to-date with his contacts, both labor and even personal, including address, telephone and dates.&lt;br /&gt;- A calendar for ‘don’t forget’ tasks, meetings, calls, presentations to the board, and others.- An easy way to carry his documents.&lt;br /&gt;All this is well known by people that work in an office, either that they have many responsibilities or not. These are common problems, and were mine too. Until I discovered Yahoo.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It was in opportunity of a trip to another country. I had to take several files, I did not have my notebook and I have misled my pen-drive. Then I thought about the possibility of send it to me them to my Yahoo address. That works, clear, but researching in-depth, I discovered that Yahoo has a lot more.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have an e-mail in Yahoo, but I also have several accounts belonging to my company that are POP3 e-mail. I have mail accounts from some organizations that I belong to, some web-mail and other POP3s. Yahoo allows me to visit my mail from all the accounts, including separate the mails by color, identifying each address with a different color stamp.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;However, the most important part in customizing Yahoo is My Yahoo. There, you can create a beginning page with the most important services that you need.First, you can see the inbox of all your electronic mail and update it by new messages. There too you can also keep your contacts, preserving up-to-date the data of people that you need more often.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On the other hand, you have a shortcut to the handbag that allows you to take files from one place to the other, whenever you have an internet connection. Regrettably, the handbag has been a little small, limited at 30MB, that which is a little bag in these days. However, I suppose that Yahoo will solve this soon.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In addition, from your beginning page you have access to your markers. Markers are URL addresses that you need to return to at some time. Something similar to the favourite of the IE but better. There you store the URL with an elected name by you. In my case, I use it like a higher filter of my favourite ones.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also, if you are a person that works in a task that needs to keep informed through the media, you can have the news of the main world media. You can use a suitable filter by topic of interest or inclusive with more intelligent filters.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In summary, all these uses combined transform Yahoo and his service My Yahoo in a proper method to be connected from any place in the world as if you are always in your office.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/26336805-4935111551953543054?l=computersand.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/feeds/4935111551953543054/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=26336805&amp;postID=4935111551953543054&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/4935111551953543054'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/4935111551953543054'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/2007/05/getting-most-of-yahoo.html' title='Getting the most of Yahoo'/><author><name>Jose Luis Gambande</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='32' src='//lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ZFKvk40MRq0/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAXE/gTpmu8RLe-k/s512-c/photo.jpg'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26336805.post-4795638260440798553</id><published>2007-05-19T15:31:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2007-05-26T16:49:27.242-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Podcasting'/><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='online'/><title type='text'>The podcasting has arrived</title><content type='html'>Podcasting is one of those words that people use today in the network without being too much explained. And many users suffer the same questioning one that had in their moment with the blogs: What is that of which everyone speaks but nobody explains? This article offers a definition and the history of its development.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span id="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Podcasting is the denomination that includes the practice of to publish and share on the Internet audio and video files. Though sometimes certain authors prefer to speak of "videocasting" for the videos, at less in this article we will not do many distinctions and will treat them as the same phenomenon.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;These files delivered on the internet, that we will call simply podcasts, arose from a mix between the RSS feeds and MP3 reproduction equipment as the iPod. Why?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The idea is interesting: to achieve the users receive the new podcasts without need to download them by hand. The first solution arose from using a functionality of the Apple iTunes that allowed to bring up-to-date multimedia contents from an RSS file, which quickly popularized the format among the users of the of Apple reproductor. To make it possible the audio or video file should be included under the label enclosure, direct in the feed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The first uses of the enclosure etiquette came since end of 2000, from the work of David Winer, the original developer of the RSS format. But the term podcasting recently appeared in February 2004 from suggesting of Ben Hammersky, of The Guardian.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In that way we should have, in each updating of the feed, the new podcasts direct in ours reprods. Of course that already not only iTunes does this: in the last two years several applications have appeared that allow us to handle our podcasts, like Nimiq, Dopple, Juice and others. Even the source of distribution has been diversified and today there are podcasts that are distributed via BitTorrent or places as Odeo and Podomatic, what saves great bandwith.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The podcasting takes thus the characteristic of "push" of the feeds RSS and they arrive to the user without have to do nothing, except to subscribe by once. And besides it serves to new multimedia formats that go beyond the text, can be distributed in a simple way by Internet. This technology has nothing to do with the "streaming" or broadcast alive by Internet, the method used by many radios. This technology needs great bandwith and servers dedicated that bear great demand of resources.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Uses of the podcasting&lt;br /&gt;For now, many people confuse the podcasting with the radio, because of that what is being distributed with RSS are fairly traditional programs. But the fortress of internet is not the distribution. As already the blogs have showed, the potential of the web is the contribution between users. Therefore, only we will see a true explosion of the podcasting in the web when they stop being simple "programs" and trasmform itself into platforms that let the users build know-how in a collaborative way. Something of this are trying to do sites like Pod-Serves with their groups of podcasting and Odeo with the possibility of leave audio comments.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The podcasting already is being adopted for the massive media. Now is more common than radios and newspapers include audio to download, often developed for cover certain news. Also the world of the education has begun to explore the podcast, in USA, where certain contents like classes simply can be distributed through the web. This content only have real value when is complemented with other tools as forums, blogs and wikis.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The podcasting has arrived, and all suggest that to be remained. Now the challenge is to see what can do the users with him. If it will be a new revolution as internet, or will remain confined to a small group of esnob users.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/26336805-4795638260440798553?l=computersand.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/feeds/4795638260440798553/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=26336805&amp;postID=4795638260440798553&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/4795638260440798553'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/4795638260440798553'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/2007/05/podcasting-has-arrived.html' title='The podcasting has arrived'/><author><name>Jose Luis Gambande</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='32' src='//lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ZFKvk40MRq0/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAXE/gTpmu8RLe-k/s512-c/photo.jpg'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26336805.post-7649986859703984439</id><published>2007-05-19T15:30:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2007-05-26T16:50:14.184-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='online'/><title type='text'>Collaborative content: Blogs, Wikis, Feeds and Podcasting</title><content type='html'>With the impressive and (now more) quiet development and evolution of Internet, periodically it appear new media and ways of communication that make more attractive the future of Internet. From blogs, wiki and constantly growing RSS feeds, new media in Internet are providing new communication formats. This article discusses an aspect of this new explosion of communication forms: the new ways of content generation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span id="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Before beginning, a question: the variety of media available needs a new thinking on Internet users to take advantage of new technologies for its work and daily life? Absolutely no. The new media are not a challenge for the users, but for whom is interested in content generation, professionally or in an amateur way. Nevertheless, new media more and more causes a greater confusion between the role of users and publishers. The new users who come into Internet and find information will not have very clear the border between who publishes and who consume it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Content&lt;br /&gt;The phrase more listened during the past five years in Internet is: content is king. With this phrase we mean that people is accessing Internet in searching of useful and inspiring information, and those that can offer the best and more useful information will be those that catch the hearing. Of course catch the hearing is equivalent, in most of the cases, to making good businesses.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This revaluation of content took place after the Internet bubble exploded, and like a reaction. During the years of the bubble, seemed that it was enough with being "inside" of Internet to have ensured the commercial success, although the product were bad or the information meaningless. Many sites not even became aware of as it was his market, but this is not newness: from the caverns the man always preferred the magic to the reason.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;All this has changed: Internet wants a more solid base to evolve that a simple speculative bubble. Today more than ever, as show the new trends on algorithms in spiders and bots, content is king. In all the forums SEO experts point out and affirm that Google indexes (registers) the sites considering which of them have attractive and rich content. Yahoo and MSN follow similar ways, although they preserve certain differences.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In all sides, content is king. Simultaneously, is too difficult to webmasters to get acceptable content. Despite the great (enormous) amount of information in Internet, demand of content grows at a more speeded up rate than the growth of the network. This demand of new content is the one that quickens appearing new media, made possible by a technological development never before sight by the humanity.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Blogs, wikis and other&lt;br /&gt;These new media have expressions that are gaining much acceptance in the Internet public. Blogs, wikis, podcasting and feeds are four of the media that greater development have in the last month’s and years. Of all of them, feeds is common to all so they can be used with anyone of them, including common Web sites. Using a feed, the user receives information, the news and other classes of material at the moment at which the content is updated. That is, instead of periodically receiving the information like in e-zines, the user receives the content when the content changes. This causes that it does not have to worry to go to look for the information, it arrives as soon as exists. When the previous content is modified, by definition, information is created. The only that one needs is a "reader" of feeds or RSS, that are various and free. Yahoo has one that allows that feeds of your interests are read directly to My Yahoo webpage.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Blogs and wikis, similar in many aspects, makes use of feed as a form to arrive at their spectators without need that they visit continuously the space to know if new information exists. Blog and wiki has subtle but clear differences. The idea behind blog is personal, whereas behind wiki there is a community of users or interests. So, blog beginning like a space where a moderator expresses his ideas, feelings, aims or wishes, and those that share partially or totally his ideas can support, complement or contradict their writings.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;However wiki prevailed like the collaborative medium to build a virtual community from people who agree from the beginning in as it is the space which they wish to create. Each one contributes to the common space, by using own content or revisions of other people's content. The successful example of this is wikipedia, communitarian encyclopedia from the information contributed by thousands of people.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Blog and wiki both have a common idea: the content building in a collaborative form or oriented previously by the community or impelled by an individual that holds the contribution of others. In both cases the RSS contributes to instantaneous update, publishers and users being able of forget the problem to stay updated.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;With podcasting the matter is a little different. Using audio or video, the podcast creator creates programs (podcasts) that he emits more or less regularly. The content is opinion or music or videos, own or from others or combining all that. It is similar to radio or TV broadcasting, but without permanent emissions in the air (broadcasting). With podcasting, and with certain limits, the users can create their own "channels". And with the aid of RSS, spectators or listeners are updated right away when a new program is loaded by the publisher. But perhaps the most important characteristic of podcast, and that often does not appear like the most exploded, is the possibility of modeling a common channel by several individuals that are thousands of kilometers of distance away.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yahoo has developed a podcast search engine that allows to look them for by subject or to stay updated through RSS of those podcast that interest to us.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Collaborative content&lt;br /&gt;All the tools that I described allow us to make reality creating content in a collaborative way. With different and new forms these media allows that several individuals display or publishes content in associative form. The message is no longer unidirectional, with an emitter and several receivers that digest the information they receives passively in a periodic way. Each receiver can produce its own information and present it in the medium, or can associate with others with a common objective, or simply to criticize the received information and help to improve it. Nobody is owner of the information.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Quality&lt;br /&gt;This horizontal construction of content can seriously affect the quality of the information presented/displayed within the channels. And it does. It is difficult to find material of quality in structures so open that ALL people can take part in. And it is in this point where I wait for the best evolution of Internet. The challenge is to get quality without restringing access. For that we need new and more creative forms of using this media. These new channels are based on Internet, they have a great potential of distribution and penetration. The penetration of Internet is growing to a rate more and more speeded up. This assures a distribution of these channels that will cause that they flood different aspects from the human life, and in that spread is the new hope of earn new quality standards gathered from the use of many people.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;An example of this wide distribution is that companies exists that use blogs, wikis and feeds for their internal tasks and in-project communications. The article Blogs &amp; Wikis For Enterprise Applications? Published in The Gilbane Report (http://gilbane.com) is interesting in this aspect.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Conclusion&lt;br /&gt;Scattering new media will be managed to improve the use and the quality of creating collaborative content. It is the new revolution of Internet, which will once again change the shape of the world as we knew it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/26336805-7649986859703984439?l=computersand.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/feeds/7649986859703984439/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=26336805&amp;postID=7649986859703984439&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/7649986859703984439'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/7649986859703984439'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/2007/05/collaborative-content-blogs-wikis-feeds.html' title='Collaborative content: Blogs, Wikis, Feeds and Podcasting'/><author><name>Jose Luis Gambande</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='32' src='//lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ZFKvk40MRq0/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAXE/gTpmu8RLe-k/s512-c/photo.jpg'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26336805.post-2686148161744955589</id><published>2007-05-19T15:27:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2007-05-26T16:49:27.244-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Internet'/><title type='text'>A child playing with a book</title><content type='html'>When I was a kid we lived at a small country town, with my parents and my sister. The town did not have but of 20000 inhabitants.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There were the 60's, and we watched the TV only at night. Although being poor, we had been able to buy a television set with sacrifice and patience.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One day, my father bought an 11 volumes encyclopedia. We paid a monthly payment during many months or years, no longer memory.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span id="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I loved that long books row with the same cover, which seems to me an infinite snake.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My father had only gone three years to keywords, but he or she knew that information and culture was the passport to the future for their children.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I was a dissuaded boy, without many friends. In the afternoons, while my friends left their houses to play football in the park or the street, I remained in the table of the kitchen reading those enormous books.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And I read page after page. I never wondered myself why following the word force was fork. And shortly after, I found fortune definition and the Fortune magazine's history.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That was my window to the world: a large and transparent window that showed me all the variety and wealth of the planet, word by word.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today I am almost fifty. I am plugged, wired, being digital, Negroponte said. My work and my life, as is today, are not sustainable without Internet. My clients demand from me more and more information, knowledge and skills, because his needs change every day. I go to the net, and there it is what I am looking for, always.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Internet sponsored all my research and the progress in my career. Sorry, but not found a better word than sponsored. I've learned some languages, some spiritual inspiration, and much of the world knowledge with my computer. And always free.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My work needs fresh information, and the news are there, in the screen in front of me. My explorer home page has several feeders, selected, and filtered, of the world news more important to my job. Or to my hobby: internet.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And when I come to my computer looking for something and write three or for keywords on my search engine, guess what: I find ten thousand or ten millions pages related only to my search. I don’t waste time reading linearly page after page.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now I like to communicate with many people, friends, colleagues, and all of them are in touch one click away. Sometimes they came to my blog and leave a remainder, sometimes in the form of comments. Or prompt my messenger, only for give me a tip, or for kidding. They are there. It doesn't matter if my business travel leads me to Turkey, or if I am attending a workshop in Brazil. They are there.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My dad has dead many years ago. Before his death, his face had many wrinkles, signs of time and suffering. I know that one of these marks, maybe a little one, appeared when he spent paying that encyclopedia.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now I have a bigger one, and free. My children born with it. We live in other time of humanity, different of that of forty years ago. However the need to know is bigger than those days. And I feel that we made possible the greater miracle on the history.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You know, left the children play with a book. The big book.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/26336805-2686148161744955589?l=computersand.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/feeds/2686148161744955589/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=26336805&amp;postID=2686148161744955589&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/2686148161744955589'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/2686148161744955589'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/2007/05/child-playing-with-book.html' title='A child playing with a book'/><author><name>Jose Luis Gambande</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='32' src='//lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ZFKvk40MRq0/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAXE/gTpmu8RLe-k/s512-c/photo.jpg'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26336805.post-5341882959101378355</id><published>2007-05-19T13:57:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2007-05-26T16:49:27.244-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Internet'/><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Sex'/><title type='text'>The amazing world of cyber sex according to Regina Lynn</title><content type='html'>Comments on an article by Regina Lynn in &lt;a href="http://www.wired.com"&gt;Wired.com&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When I found myself reading the article from Regina, I felt a sensation provoked by his female nature. I am a man, maybe an old man. I always feel surprised by differences between men and women.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I recommend that you read the complete article at &lt;a href="http://www.wired.com/news/columns/0,70868-1.html?tw=wn_story_page_next1"&gt;The Myth of Cybersexual Losers&lt;/a&gt; before to read this comment.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span id="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The article is good, not matter if you agree or not. She treat to refuse the arguments that more and more people are moving to cyber-sex leaving real, skin sex. She concludes that more people is yet interested in real sex, that those that moved to a real fantasy. And in this journey, she analyzes the differences between both.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I’ am online since 1996 and believe have seen most of characters that you can find in this cyberspace. There is a universe of crazy people, paranoids, and stupid and, of course, common and smart people here. But is impossible not to see that one of the most attractors of internet is sex, like it is in human life. Could not be different.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But better that discuss how many people are making what, something that is hard to quantify, I prefer to analyze what are the benefits that one gets from the cyber sex.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I will speak only about men. I cannot enter the mind of a woman.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;By using examples, I want to state there is a wide variety of motivation for people looking for cyber sex, rather than only uncommitment. The world of surfers is not as plain as Regina wants we think.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are a handful of advantages that lead to net-sex, and each of one has his own charm and can coexists:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- If you are shy, you can enter into a relationship without see yourself exposed to the look of a woman that will criticised your hair or your teeth. I want to mention the same woman that say "the only important is what you have inside", will desperately escape if you look not enough handsome or you are cross-eyed.In most of these cases people exchange photos or videos, but you always can "improve" the stuff. In either case, you can enter in contact before have been seen.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- In other cases men wants to be honest, and deep honest. I mean: in a real world, a man that meet a woman has to dissimulate some aspects of personality. Nobody can show herself as it is because of fear to appear ridiculous.Using internet-made relationships, a man shows authentically how he is, not matter if other people likes or not, without the risk of to be shamed. If you don’t like him, leave him.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- We have to recognize there are people that like to simulate. Pretending is a common trick in internet, easy because the media used. Sometimes it becomes pathology, but majority are small changes to be more attractive. This trick allows building a personality wanted, and getting a date.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- There are other cases simpler to understand. The need of masturbating is a recognized motivation for people who are surfing the web. Today this is well known by specialists and by businesspeople too, who make a flourishing business from this fact. If mine statistics do not lies, one of more visited sites are sexually explicit dating websites, or even escort sites. And not always for contracting a room service.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- Finally, curiosity is not a minor reason. People just arriving to the net, would be intrigued to see what's going on with what matters in their lives. With 850 million people inside and growing at 10 percent yearly, it is almost 200,000 newbie’s daily. That is an important source of sexnauts.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As Regina states, people are not leaving real sex, skin to skin contact. Cyber sex is another expression of sex, and so it is taken by people according personality or habits. Of course could be ill people that enter in internet-sex dependence, forgetting that life is body and soul's sensations. But it is a minority. In those sense I agree with her.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But, as we demonstrated, the worldwide zoo is more variated and unlike that the discussed in her article and impossible of simplify as she does.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;See you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/26336805-5341882959101378355?l=computersand.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/feeds/5341882959101378355/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=26336805&amp;postID=5341882959101378355&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/5341882959101378355'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/26336805/posts/default/5341882959101378355'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://computersand.blogspot.com/2007/05/amazing-world-of-cyber-sex-according-to.html' title='The amazing world of cyber sex according to Regina Lynn'/><author><name>Jose Luis Gambande</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='32' src='//lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ZFKvk40MRq0/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAXE/gTpmu8RLe-k/s512-c/photo.jpg'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26336805.post-4326861507938871526</id><published>2007-05-19T13:51:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2007-05-26T16:49:27.245-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Internet'/><title type='text'>Finally, Get Your Degree at a Distance University!</title><content type='html'>Getting your own degree at a distance university can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life! While at times it can be challenging, it's a great experience as well. It has wonderful rewards, and you will not only experience them once you graduate, they will come through the duration of the time that you are in the program. Some people say that the degree that you earn, say online, is not as valuable as one that is earned at a traditional university, one where you go in and actually sit in the classroom. I think they are both just as valuable. As long as the school is accredited I personally don't see a problem with that. But that is a decision that you have to make. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Distance universities are so convenient for those who are, say single parents. Or if you work 40 plus hours a week&lt;span id="fullpost"&gt; and you don't have much time to attend class. You can't make it to morning, noon or evening classes. The faculty and staff understand this and they will work around your schedule. However, don't expect a cake walk. You are expected to put forth the effort that is required of you. They almost expect even more effort that if you were physically in the class? Why, because sometimes when you interact via email or by phone, you are expected to produce much more valuable information. The interaction is much more personal, thus more is expected from you. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Back in the day, distance universities used to be referred to as correspondence courses. The name has changed a few times, but the end result stays the same. This type of distance education takes advantage of technology and computers to deliver the curriculum to the student. Again, this has to be the most convenient type of learning that has ever been developed. Don't underestimate the power of this type of education. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One thing to watch out for is schools that claim to be accredited. While an overwhelming majority of schools and school information that you research will be honest, there have been reports of schools being dishonest and saying that they are accredited when in fact they are not. So it is essential that you do your research, request more information from the institution and find out for your self. Most universities are more than happy to provide you with all the information you need. Also, speak with the student advisors if you have more questions and are in doubt about anything. They are there to help you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;About the Author&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;James Calvin is a freelance editor.
